Locksmith stickers are being used to mark houses as easy targets for burglary?

There has been alot of twitter activity in recent days about fake locksmith stickers being placed on Walthamstow houses (usually the letterbox) to mark it as an easy target for burglary. These articles suggest that this probably isn’t the case, but obviously if you are concerned you should just remove it.

Mystery of ‘burglar’s markers’ unlocked (Evening Standard 21 Nov 2013).

Stickers are a “nuisance” says Locksmith and are routinely seen in the borough (Waltham Forest Guardian, 22 Nov 2013).

If you have any concerns about local security ask David or Dave for info about the local Neighbourhood Watch scheme (if you don’t know them ask any of your neighbours with a ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ sticker in the window).
