Anyone remember Small Wonder Records on Hoe Street?

If you frequented the small shop that became one of the most influential independent record labels of the early 80s then the guy who wrote up this interview with Pete Stennet would like to hear from you.

Street Party Info & Schedule

Here’s an outline schedule for the day:-

10am onwards please come out and help finish off building the Marquee and decorate the street.

1pm music starts

2pm – 3pm and 5pm – 6pm: Face painting

3pm – London Swing Cats: Lindy Hop and Jitterbug dancing.

4.30pm – Sports Day Games for all ages (tug of war, sack race etc)

6pm – Competition Judging & Awards:

Elmfield Road Bake Off:- Free entry. Bring out a cake on the day (by 4pm at the latest) for your chance to take home the Elmfield Bake Off Trophy and £20.00 in gift vouchers. Under 16s and 16s-&-Over categories. Cakes judged on skill and creativity.

Best decorated front garden: A £20.00 gift voucher will be awarded to the most creative front garden decorations. Free entry.

7pm – Live Irisn Folk Band

9pm – Raffle (tickets will be on sale all day)

10pm – Karaoke and Dancing

Street Party planning meetings now weekly

As the street party is now just four weeks away we’ll be getting together for planning meetings every Thursday at 8pm at the Coppermill Pub, usually in the beer garden (weather permitting). Please come along if you’re interested in how things are progressing.
