Big London Energy Switch could save everyone money on Gas and Electricity Bills.

The Big London Energy Switch aims to help people reduce their energy bills. They say:

“The Big London Energy Switch is gathering together people who want to switch without the hassle and who want to pay less for energy. Once we have enough people we will organise an ‘energy auction’, inviting energy suppliers to offer their cheapest tariffs to everyone who has registered. Whichever supplier(s) offers the cheapest tariff gets to offer you a new contract.”

It’s basically collective bargaining but could fundamentally change the balance of power between energy suppliers and their customers. It’s being run by London Councils in partnership with London Borough of Waltham Forest and a number of other Councils in London.
